St. Thomas More and Rapid City mayor donate $500 to Fork Real Cafe

The Rapid City community has come together once again to help a local organization. This time, St. Thomas More Middle School leads the charge.

Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun visited Fork Real Café to donate the $500 check he received from St Thomas More students. Students raised the money through a ‘Comfy for a Cause Day’ in which they could avoid wearing their school uniforms for the day, for a small fee. The money was then given to the mayor to donate to a community organization.

Fork Real Café founder Rhonda Pearcy was overwhelmed by the support of the students and the community.

“We can’t do this alone. We are all about wrap-around and that wrap-around love from this city all the way down to people who are just on the streets. Just loving each other and saying we don’t have to have an answer to everything but what we need to do is what is our God-given talent? And are we putting it to use?” said Pearcy.
